Infusion kit research – can you help?

Written by Aaron Dennis, July 2, 2021

We have been approached by a fieldwork research agency, Acumen Fieldwork, who are working with an independent research agency on a study that has been commissioned by a pharmaceutical company who are looking to get feedback on prototype infusion kit, and associated instructions for use, from those it is being designed for.

They would like to invite adults and children (aged 12-17 years old) who have been diagnosed with haemophilia, von Willebrand disease or another condition that requires them to be prescribed infusions, to take part in a one-to-one interview.

Participants will be asked to use the device in a simulated way, into a skin-like injection trainer pad, and then discuss with the researchers how user friendly they think it is. This is not a clinical trial and participants will not be asked to take any medication or alter their prescribed medication.

All children taking part in the study must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and aged between 12 and 17 years old.

The sessions are taking place in a number of cities across the UK: London, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. They are running sessions between 15 – 21 July and more between 2 – 13 of August.

For participating in the research adults would receive £80 for 75 minutes of their time and adolescents and their guardian would receive £120 total for attending.
