Join us this summer for a special event bringing together young people with bleeding disorders and their families from across the UK.
It’s a chance for children aged eight (school year 3) to 16 to try new activities, such as sailing, canoeing and zipwiring. Parents, carers and younger children can unwind, connect with others and join in with some family activities. Siblings are welcome and there will be informal games and an art club available for children too young to join the outdoor adventures.
Specialist clinicians will be available to talk about treatment and care in a relaxed setting, helping to improve knowledge and confidence about living well with a bleeding disorder.
What’s included:
- A tailored activity programme for young people aged eight to 16
- Informal games and activities for children under eight
- Family activities, such as an ‘extreme games’ session
- Interactive information sessions from healthcare professionals
- All meals, including a cooked breakfast, a two-course lunch, and a two-course evening meal
- Lodge: Private and secure en-suite bedrooms, in two of our designated lodges. Each lodge is complete with a cosy meeting lounge and kitchenette.
- Bedrooms: Family rooms, sleeping five, four and two people (2 Single Beds with 1 or 2 bunk beds; all are en-suite).
What’s not included
- cots or bed guards.
Pets: No pets are permitted, excluding guide dogs.
Staff from the Haemophilia Society, as well as a paediatric haemophilia nurse and a physiotherapist, will be on site for the duration of the event.
The event is open to members of the Haemophilia Society with a bleeding disorder and their families.
