The Inquiry Memorial

The Infected Blood Inquiry has its own memorial, which is growing as the inquiry progresses.

Designed by Art Lewry, the memorial mimics a laboratory specimen holder, beautifully lit in purple. Inside each specimen jar is a message to a loved one written by someone infected or affected by the contaminated blood scandal.

Originally created by people attending the commemoration at the start of the preliminary hearings in September 2018, the inquiry memorial has recently been redesigned so that every contribution can be displayed. It will continue to expand as necessary so that as many people as possible can take part.

The memorial can be viewed in person at the public hearings of the Infected Blood Inquiry.

If you are attending inquiry hearings you can write your message on the spot, but if you are not able to come in person it is still possible to contribute. The size of the piece of paper which fits into the jars is 5 inches x 2 inches.

To add a message to the memorial, contact the inquiry team on either 0808 169 1377 or  email: [email protected]
