Our Big Get-Together (BGT) annual conference in Northampton on 22 November is a chance to get together with people with bleeding disorders and their families to learn about new treatments and share experiences.

The BGT is a friendly, informal event which is free to all our members. Whether you’re recently diagnosed or have been living with a bleeding disorder for many years, you’ll find plenty of new information about your condition at BGT. You’ll also meet other people from around the UK with a bleeding disorder.

We’ll be joined by Ed Fuller, the star rower who won a gold medal with his crew at the Paralypic Games in Paris 2024 who lives with haemophilia. He will take part in a family-focused session on the importance of exercise. There’s also an afternoon workshop for young people with bleeding disorders aged eight upwards.

Other highlights include discussions about how to improve the A&E experience for people with bleeding disorders, what needs to be done to improve the quality of care for women and girls and how to decide what treatment is best for you.

We’ll have dedicated sessions for people with rare bleeding disorders, such as Glanzmann thrombasthenia and factor V deficiency, as well as workshops for people with VWD and haemophilia.

Most importantly, there are lots of breaks to talk to other people with a bleeding disorder about what matters to you. Lunch is included and we hope you’ll stay for drinks at the end of the conference to reflect on the day.

Please note that members are responsible for booking their own accommodation. We are not able to provide a creche service for this event. This event will not be live-streamed or recorded.

Youth Workshop

Join our afternoon Youth Workshop led by the amazing Natalie Lawson, our Medical Trustee and Haemophilia Nurse Specialist from Birmingham!

The workshop is open to our younger members aged 8-17 with a bleeding disorder or siblings of people with a bleeding disorder. Join us for a lively, interactive day filled with games, sharing experiences, and meeting new people.
