Daily Mail article helps to raise awareness of women with bleeding disorders
Written by Aaron Dennis, August 8, 2019
There is a lot of misunderstanding about bleeding disorders and many people don’t know that women are affected too. In fact, tens of thousands of women across the UK are living with the symptoms of a bleeding disorder without even knowing it.
Our Talking Red awareness campaign was launched to make women more aware of the symptoms of a bleeding disorder – heavy periods, bruising easily and prolonged bleeding after a procedure or childbirth – and to promote better understanding of what it means to live with such a condition.
This article from the Daily Mail shares Ann-Marie Roy’s life with Von Willebrand disease.
As mentioned in the Daily Mail article, as part of our awareness campaign we have produced a campaign guide that includes a nine-point check list of common symptoms that aims to help patients and GPs identify the signs of a bleeding disorder.
You can view and download the campaign guide along with all of our other Talking Red resources here
