Anna Geffert

Trustee

Anna Geffert, aged 38, was born in Worcester and lives in London with her two sons, Blake and Curtis, husband, Sam, and five-month-old puppy, Watson. Anna loves nothing better than winding down with some yoga after work and also enjoys gardening when she can.

Having been a THS member for 30 years, Anna put herself forward as a trustee in November 2020. She is particularly committed to Talking Red, our campaign to increase awareness and support for women with bleeding disorders, and is a member of our women’s working group.

Anna has severe Von Willebrand Disease (VWD) and her two sons (2 years and 6 years) also have the condition. She understands first-hand the challenges which a bleeding disorder can bring, and also how you can successfully manage it; saying that she has found strength in overcoming adversity.

Anna says, “I want to support the Society to keep pushing to find better treatments and even cures for people affected by bleeding disorders, hopefully leaving a positive legacy for my children and their children to come.”

Anna runs her own communications business, having worked for international PR agencies for the last 13 years. She works with blue chip businesses to build and cement their brands using PR, marketing and research. Anna is on the board of Women in PR and co-chairs the SME group for the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA).

Once the Society’s full programme of events is safely up and running again after the impact of the pandemic, Anna is really looking forward to meeting more of you in person.
