“I’m in the middle of two sisters, and all three of us suffer from heavy and painful periods, although we haven’t been diagnosed with low factor levels,” says Manpreet, 28, from West London. “We are carriers of haemophilia and I feel lucky that because we know about our family history, we can call on a consultant for support if we eventually think about starting a family.  

“But there’s not enough understanding and not everyone gets this support. Women aren’t getting the attention that they need and so it’s important to raise awareness and talk about women and bleeding disorders more.”
