The Haemophilia Society’s compensation submission
Written by Jessica Bomford, January 11, 2022
We have submitted our views on the complex issue of compensation for those infected and affected by the contaminated blood scandal to the Infected Blood Compensation Framework Study.
The document, which you can read here, was written following extensive consultation with our members and the wider infected and affected community. This included a survey, which was completed by just over 400 people, and a series of online webinars.
The Haemophilia Society’s submission to Sir Robert Francis QC, who is leading the independent study, was made last month. He is expected to report his findings to the government in March and will then appear in front of the Infected Blood Inquiry to discuss the study.
If you have any comments about this submission or thoughts about compensation you’d like to share with us, please email: [email protected].
You can keep up to date with the inquiry through the Haemophilia Society’s dedicated Twitter account or join our Facebook page for daily updates on evidence when the inquiry is sitting.
Transcripts of inquiry evidence are available here. Our weekly summaries of previous hearings are here.
