The Infected Blood Inquiry has started its four-week investigation of the trusts and schemes set up to support those infected and affected by the contaminated blood scandal.
In four days of evidence, the inquiry heard from Peter Stevens, a founding trustee of the Macfarlane Trust (MFT) and its chair from 2000-2007 and former chair of the Eileen Trust, the Skipton Fund and the Caxton Foundation. Other witnesses were Ann Hithersay, MFT chief executive 1997-2003 and Christopher FitzGerald, MFT chair 2007-2012.
