“We found out our son had Severe A Haemophilia when he was just under 2. Not long after we found out we were put in touch with The Haemophilia Society by our nurse from St George’s Hospital. We were invited on a ‘newly diagnosed’ weekend to Centre Parcs where we had the chance to learn lots of things about our son’s condition and meet other families learning how to cope like us.
Ever since that weekend I wanted to give something back to The Haemophilia Society, so each year I’ve held a coffee and cake afternoon and invited family and friends to my home. We’ve raised an amazing amount from enjoying cake and chatting! This year my brave little bruiser even let his teacher and TA and a few others watch him have his treatment. I love holding the event and am so proud of my family and friends who help is to raise funds for a charity that is so close to our hearts. Look forward to planning next year’s!” Ann-Marie Salmen – Community Fundraiser
