CHESS Paeds
We are working with HCD economics, four other Haemophilia societies across Europe and the University of Chester on burden of illness study in the paediatric (children’s) haemophilia population – one of the first burden of illness studies undertaken in haemophilia in the paediatric population. The study aims to look at the total cost (burden) of a child with haemophilia for the health service, and the family, looking at how things differ across Europe. We hope this will lead to campaigning opportunities to influence decisions refining and optimising pathways of care for haemophilia patients in the future.
VWD (Von Willebrand Disease) CHESS study
We are working with HCD economics, four other Haemophilia societies across Europe and the University of Chester to define the economic burden for individuals with vWD. Data on the ‘real world’ burden of cost of vWD is needed to estimate the impact of existing interventions (treatments), as well as the potential gains of new and future treatments. The study will also look at the socioeconomic burden associated with vWD.
