Update from the European Haemophilia Consortium

Written by Aaron Dennis, March 27, 2020

Following a meeting hosted by the European Haemophilia Consortium it has been confirmed that there is not believed to be any increased risk of infection with Covid-19 for people who have had Hepatitis C, whatever their previous treatment regime, however following government advice is still important.

Information from countries with significantly more infections than the UK suggests that people with a bleeding disorder do not appear to have any difference in outcome to the rest of the population if they become infected.

However, it is important their Comprehensive Care Centre is contacted quickly to ensure appropriate care for their bleeding disorder during any hospital admissions.

Please see our dedicated frequently asked questions page for more information about Covid-19 and bleeding disorders.
